Polymer Clay; Faux Bone and Faux Ivory

Last week my eye candy was faux bone, and it turned out that all but one photo were Robert Dancik's Faux Bone. I must redeem myself to the loyal polymer clay people, so this time it's faux bone or faux ivory, all polymer clay! I think the versatility of polymer clay is displayed well here. From book jackets to beads to card cases........what can't you do with it?

What can't you do with polymer clay? The person who post's the most imaginative answer to this question wins 2 of my faux bone beads from a segment of the Carol Duvall Show where I demonstrated Faux Bone and Faux Amber! So get crazy and think up a really good answer. Leave it in the comments area, and I'll set a deadline depending on how many comments there are.
Be sure to check out Lora's, Paige's, and Christine's Eye Candy picks. That's where I'm goin now!

I really don't think there is anything you can't do with polymer clay. But if I could think of one thing I wouldn't want to create with polymer clay, it would be an umbrella. Too heavy to make in one piece, too messy to try and bind pieces together - though you could use your liqud clay and ribbon technique you used on your jewelry box pyramids shown on Carol Duvall.

I adore coveing things with polymer clay to dress up the ordinary.... the one thing I wish I could cover but can't is my pyrex bakeware :( What a wonderful canvas that must remain unused .

What CAN'T you do?? Wow what a question :)
The only thing that comes to my mind is.....Once you have a art peice baked then you go to do that last little thing to it and it messes the whole thing up, I know you know what I am talking about. That you can NEVER reproduce that first piece...like melt it down and start again......that is what I would like to be able to do :)

Polymer clay is not a good substitute for toilet paper!

Well it can't be used to make legal currency.

You can't cure the common cold with polymer clay - BUT- you CAN create uncommon "cool"!

The first thing I thought of that it CAN'T be used for is this.

After a great tooth cleaning at the dentist, they use that delightful pink stuff to polish your teeth.

Polymer Clay can NOT be used to polish teeth!

The new pics are awesome. Thanks so much for sharing.

I would love to walk around in a nice skirt made out of the best of polymer clay cane slices, the colors to suit my mood and the occasion...A flowy, pretty, polymer clay skirt, how I wish I could do that.

You can create the most wonderful, beautiful, imaginative, original, or personal things with pc,, you can sell, give, or hold it close for just yourself, BUT years from now it will still be here on a shelf, hidden in a box, or someone is wearing it, "You can't Take your polymer clay creations with You". they will just be wonderful memories of yourself.

These are really great pieces. I've only been doing PC for 4 months, so it's a look I can strive for!

Love the visuals on your blog!! I've added yours to my list of ones to check!!
It interesting to hear your take on the faux bone!! Poly clay is certainly easier to work!! Wish I could have taken Robert's class!!
Love his new book!
